“I know… And it was amazing. Believe me it was. I love you, Bonnie.” Julia shut her eyes tight for a second, hoping everything would make more sense to her when she opened them. “No…” Julia found herself whispering. She couldn’t lose Bonnie. Maybe it was selfish of her but she just couldn’t.

“It’s ok. I won’t be mad… I know you’ve liked him forever. And he makes you happy. And you and I will always be best friends. Now we’ll be roommates.” she smiled. “Be with Darren. He’s good for you.” she forced herself to sound happy.

Julia stopped Bonnie and kissed her. “I want to be with you Bonnie. I love you.” She ran a hand through her hair. “I just need time. A break from everything, you know? I just need to figure things out.” She takes Bonnie’s hand in hers.

Bonnie nods. “I understand that. I just.. I don’t have much time. This baby is going to be here whenever she wants to be. I love you, Julia. And if you need to take a break, then I understand. I’m just nervous about all of this.”

Julia took a deep breath and exhaled. “And I’ll be there. I’ll always be there for you and for Amelia. Always.” She kissed Bonnie on the cheek. “I love you too Bonnie.”

Bonnie wrapped her arms around Julia. “Let’s go home. I don’t really feel like shopping anymore.” she said, feeling physically and emotionally tired from the day.

Julia nodded, taking Bonnie’s hand in hers. “Home. I love the way that sounds,” she smiled at Bonnie.

Bonnie was quiet the whole ride back to her house. When they got in, she laid down on the couch and propped her swilled feet up. “I think I’m going to get a dog.” she said casually
